Pizza Braid

Another week where at least one of us have spent part of the week being sick! And on Spring Break of all times! Tyler and I have both been sick this week and I'm hoping to wrap it up before the weekend ends!

One thing that is really great for times like these are quick and easy meals. If you haven't noticed, I am a fan of quick and easy! This Pizza Braid couldn't be easier- as you probably already know, since I love making meals into braids! Like this Spaghetti wrapped in garlic bread, or the Cheesy Chicken Broccoli braid, but the truth is that even though they may seem complicated, they are really easy to put together.

Pizza Braid

You let the dough sit on your counter during the day, topped with a single piece of saran wrap (sprayed with cooking spray, of course).

Use a rolling pin to flatten out your bread into a big rectangle. It certainly doesn't need to be perfect!

Add your toppings. I started with sauce and then added cheese, pepperoni, more cheese, more pepperoni, you get the point.

Using a knife, do about 8 slices down each side and then start braiding them together, one by one. I just tuck in the end pieces so they don't unfold. Then using the egg white only, paint the egg white onto the top of the braided loaf. I sprinkled garlic powder and then parmesan cheese on the top.

Bake until nice and brown on top. It'll be about 20-25 minutes.

Let it sit for just a moment before slicing into it. It will be super hot!

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf Rhodes frozen dough

  • 1 cup Pizza sauce

  • 1 package Pepperoni slices

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1/8 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese

  • Garlic powder

  • 1 egg white

  1. Thaw frozen dough per package directions.

  2. Roll out dough

  3. Add pizza sauce down the middle of the dough.

  4. Add Mozzarella, then pepperoni, Mozzarella, pepperoni and lastly {more} Mozzarella.

  5. Cut slices down the sides of the pizza dough and start to braid, making sure braids overlap each other, leaving minimal gaps.

  6. Brush egg white over entire top of braid then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

  7. Bake on 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
