3rd Blogaversary {GIVEAWAY}

I've been blogging for 3 years now, and I'll be the first to say that I wasn't sure how long I'd stick with it.

I started blogging just a couple of weeks after I left my job, when I was pregnant with my second baby. I really started it for the same reason that a lot of women start- to make millions
Ya, right!

I started because I wanted to capture my pregnancy, and share with my family. Since I'm pretty sure most of my family doesn't so much as glance at this here blog, I decided to branch out to a broader audience by not only sharing my family, but recipes, crafts, DIY projects and some reviews here and there.

I am so grateful that in the last year alone I went from 8, (yes, eight readers) to over 2,500 between GFC, Bloglovin', Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. I am grateful that people keep coming back to see what is going on in my life. And what I'm working on.

Because I have such amazing readers, I wanted to offer up this amazing giveaway. And lucky for me (and YOU!) I have some fantastic women who are helping me out!

Foodie Friday: Jalapeno bites

Looking for a great, quick snack for when friends come over? These Jalapeno bites were delicious and quick and easy to make.

A couple of weeks ago I hosted a Bic Soleil House Party (Check out House Party here) and I needed some easy to make food. I was hosting a baby sprinkle that morning and between the two I needed to make things easier on myself. After looking through my Pinterest pins I decided to add this recipe to the mix.

I knew I already had jalapenos, the crescent rolls and cream cheese, so why not?

Jalapeno bites

-All you do is mix the softened cream cheese and HALF of a small can of Jalapenos together.
-Then open your can of rolls and carefully divide into the 2 sections.
-After you do that you roll it out on a lightly floured surface into two long pieces.
-Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the two pieces.
-Then roll (long ways)
-Cut into bite size pieces

-Cook on 350 for about 11 minutes. Until golden brown.

*Word to the wise* Depending on how HOT you like things, I am not super crazy for super hot foods so I typically buy the mild form of everything. However, this particular time, for some reason I purchased the Fire Roasted Hot Jalapenos. (by mistake, obviously) While moving these to the plate I got a little cream cheese on my finger and I licked it off. My mouth was on FIRE! I warned everyone but they were still eaten!

I would make these again, for sure, but using mild jalapenos.

Summer is 9 months

Summer is 9 months!

She has 2 bottom teeth and at least one top tooth that is trying to come in. But I'll tell ya, it's been a nightmare! Last Sunday I noticed she felt warmer than normal so I took her temperature and she had a fever. I checked for teeth and sure enough I could see a while line on her upper gums. It was swollen and looked like it hurt!I figured it would be through in the next couple of days. But here we are a week later and still no tooth is through. It's been a rough week with a super fussy little girl! And I hope this tooth comes in soon!

She is about 17 pounds. We go in for her check up next week so that will get confirmed then.

Summer is wearing mainly 6-9 month clothes and some 12 month clothes depending on if it was 2nd hand and shrunk down a little. But she still has a couple of outfits that are 3-6.

She isn't quite crawling but she gets up on one knee and uses her other foot to push herself forward. She also gets up on both knees and hands and rocks back and forth. This last week she has started to try and pull herself up on furniture and she would prefer to stand on your lap than sit.

Her sleep has not been great. I know part of that is the teething, but she is up at least a couple of times during the night. I normally let her nap as often as she wants but I might have to start getting her on more of a schedule. Wish me luck!

Summer says, Mama, Dada, Bubba (which is Zach and Tyler) and she waves bye-bye.

We are still breastfeeding on demand and it's going good. But sometimes she bites. Hard.
We don't do a lot of baby food yet, it's mainly a few times per week.

She has a great smile and no one can make her smile like her brothers. She loves those boys like crazy.

39 weeks in 39 week out- My oh my, what a beautiful little girl I was blessed with!

Foodie Friday: BLT Wraps

I especially love quick and easy food! And even though these BLT Wraps are not something that we'd necessarily eat for dinner, it's definitely something we'd eat for a weekend lunch or "Linner".

BLT Wrap

All you need to make this delicious snack is:

Tortillas
mayo (if you want)
Bacon
lettuce
tomato

Crisp your bacon, chop your lettuce and tomato, add all ingredients to the tortilla and roll it up.

Doesn't get any easier than that, right?

I love avocado on these too!

Last day of 5th grade

This school year has cruised by!

Today is Zach's last day of 5th grade! I can't believe there is only one year left of elementary school. It feels like just yesterday I was writing THIS post about when 5th grade was starting!

Last day of school (5th grade)

I asked Zach a few questions at the start of the year- lets see if the answers have changed.

Favorite:

TV show: Grim (Yes, I let my 11 yo watch it- don't judge!)
Movie: Aliens in the attic
Song: Home by Phillip Phillips
Color: Orange
Food: Pizza
Activity: Riding bikes/drawing
Subject: Science
Height: 4'10 1/2"

Zachary's favorite part of 5th grade was: His teacher, Mrs. Carroll. (I have to agree, she was great)

I am sooo looking forward to having the summer with my 3 munchkins! Can't wait to get the activities rolling!

Foodie Friday: Easy Fruit Kabobs

Foodie Friday

Last weekend I helped out at my BFF's baby sprinkle. I was excited to help out and get some extra goodies for her little girl who will be making her appearance a little later this month! (I can't wait to see her!)

We were trying to stick to finger food and had a lot of sweets but I also wanted to do some fruit. I spotted something similar on Pinterest and thought it was just what we needed.

Easy fruit kabobs

I used cake pop sticks because I didn't have any kabob sticks, but it still worked out great.
And I just used grapes, strawberries and pineapple and they were delicious!

How to have fun in our house?

You make a chalkboard wall....

I have been wanting one of these for quite a while but I couldn't quite get Travis on board. After a lot of working on him he finally caved and we went and bought the paint. He kept trying to convince me to use a different wall than I wanted, but finally- actually while he was at work, I painted!

Here it is going on

After one coat

After two coats

After three coats

Primed

(Sorry for my terrible picture with a shadow- I primed the chalkboard at about 11 pm)

and complete!

This was so much fun to make and everyone in the house, except Summer, has played on this chalkboard! I am so glad I made it! Tyler especially loves to draw and really loves to draw on everyone else's pictures! Right now we have a HUGE count down to school being out on the top half!

My 3 worst traits

The other day I was going to do my 3 worst traits for part of Blog everyday in May, but for real, these kids keep me busy and I just flat out never got around to it! I mean, I wrote it out on paper, but ran out of time to type it up!

So, I'm a week or so late, but here it goes!

- I can be gullible. I believe. I believe easily. I believe quickly. I believe peoples intentions are good.

- I don't have much of a sense of humor: A lot of times I don't "get" jokes. I don't really "lol" often, rather I laugh to myself.

- I don't put myself "out there". I hate rejection and worry what people will thing and how they react. So instead of deal with rejection, I just keep to myself.

Because I have just sold myself so well (eye roll) I am not going to list 3 of my best traits.

- I am loyal to the end. I will go the extra mile for the people in my life whom I love. I will take the shoes off my feet if you need them. (And not just because I'd rather be barefoot.)

- I am considerate. When making decisions I try to look at who and how it might impact others. I "try" to think about people's feelings before doing things.

- I am passionate. When I set out to do something I want to do it 100%. I make every effort to get things done correctly the first time.
