DIY Dog Food Container

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ToPetsWithLove #CollectiveBias

For many people, pets are like family. Travis got Jada when she was a puppy and I came into her life about a year and a half later. And while it drives me nuts when she eats toilet paper, or everything else in sight, I still would never want anything to happen to her. She is silly and we always laugh about the positions she sleeps in.

She is crazy and loves running around the back yard like a wild animal. When the sun is barely shining she will find the only sunny place in our back yard and lay in it.

Sweet Jada just turned 11 on Halloween and to be honest, she still isn't slowing down much.  She is still as hyper as she was when she was 1! She loves to go for walks, chase unsuspecting joggers that are running on the sidewalk (on the other side of the fence) and chew on anything she can get her teeth in. Literally, she has eaten more shoes, toilet paper, and she even ate the siding off our old house! We can't leave anything on the floor because she will chew on it. And with kids, that's hard. They leave everything on the floor!

It took everything to get these pictures of her because she just doesn't sit still!

When it is time to pick up food and treats for this girl, I head to Fred Meyer. I love that they have everything I need to pamper Jada right in one place.

I picked up Purina Beneful Dog Food because it has meat as it's #1 ingredient and no added sugar. I also got some Beggin Strips. What dog doesn't like a treat that smells and tastes like bacon?

Jada really needed a new dog food container. Her old one was small and the lid was broken so I decided to make her a new one. While I was out getting my Purina Beneful dog food I grabbed a holiday popcorn tin. My kids LOVE that popcorn and once it's empty and cleaned out it is a perfect container to keep dog food in.

However, actually spray painting the container was a little more of a challenge. It has been pouring rain for the last couple of week and when I finally got a little break in the clouds I took the opportunity to spray paint.

When it was all done and dry and smelling a little less like spray paint I used my cricut and added Jada's name to the top. Along with a "Dog Food" printable that you can find below!

Some of the reasons I choose Purina Beneful Dog Food:

  • Real Meat as the #1 ingredient

  • accents of real vegetables (spinach, peas and carrots)

  • 23 essential vitamins and minerals

  • includes antioxidant Vitamin E

  • 22 g of protein to help maintain strong muscles

  • Tender and crunchy bites that dogs love

Giving Jada Purina Beneful Dog Food makes me feel confident that she is getting the nutrition she needs for her adult life.

Purex plus Clorox {Giveaway}

The Purex® brand provided me with a sample of Purex® plus Clorox 2® detergent in exchange for a product review. However all the opinions expressed here are my own

It is no secret that I love the warm weather. The hotter the better.

During the Spring our area experiences all types of weather. We see rain, snow, hail and lots of sunshine. And because of that the kids are always outside playing. Some of their favorite activities include swinging, sliding, rolling down the hill and playing in the sandbox.

With the kids spending so much time outside there are bound to be stains on their clothes. A couple of weeks ago Summer went outside to play and I almost asked her to change her pants. She was wearing some adorable blue/green color skinny jeans and I should have known better, but I let her go. She was not outside even 5 minutes and she comes in with huge brown dirt/mud stains on BOTH knees! I wish I would have taken a picture but of course, I didn't. I immediately took them off of her and ran down to the laundry room to put some of the Purex plus Clorox 2 on the knees and let them sit for a few before washing them.

Because I hadn't used Purex plus Clorox 2 before I really wasn't sure this staining fighting detergent would work. But because it is safe for colors I knew I could give it a shot and see how the stain turned out. When I took the pants out of the wash I was expecting to still see stains. I was prepared to have to wash a second time but I was pleasantly surprised to see bright clean jeans!

Turning everyday moments into #FeelGooder Moments with Zone Perfect

I feel like so often people think that they have to get or receive something in order to feel good. Something has to be "happening" for them to feel good. But that is not true. Sure, those times when someone does something nice for you it does make you feel good and maybe even make you want to pay if forward. But why wait until someone does something for you? Why not start that chain yourself?

PerfectlySimple

Everyone wants those moments that make them feel good about themselves, about their relationships, about their life choices.

A few of my favorite things are:

Getting a pedicure
Getting my hair cut and/or colored
Exercising
Eating healthy food
Going to a movie with the kids
Having a date night with my husband

You get the drift, yes?

But what about even smaller moments? The #FeelGooder moments?

Like eating healthy food and starting my kids off on making good food choices while they are young.
Buying the persons coffee that is in line behind me.
Renting a movie and eating popcorn on the couch with my husband and kids.
Or coloring in a coloring book with the kids.
Making a holiday countdown.
Making holiday treats to share with our friends and family.
Filling a paper bag with food and toiletries to donate to a shelter.

If you ever look on Pinterest you have probably seen something called a "Blessings Bag". It is where you take a Gallon size bag (or something similar) and you fill it with items that a homeless person could use. With it getting colder rapidly in the Pacific North West it is a great time to donate items to the shelter, or if you see a person on the side of the road asking for help. So I decided to put together some of these little bags to help out people in need.

Some of the items I decided to put in my bag include:

Deodorant
razors
Shaving cream
Shampoo
Conditioner
Chap stick
Hand Sanitizer
Body Wash
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Floss
Mouthwash
Granola Bars
Hair ties
Face wash

I will also be adding brand new socks and some cotton gloves, but I didn't have any to show for my picture.

One thing I wanted to add in was Granola bars.

PicMonkey Collage2

While I think any kind would be great, I picked the Perfectly Simple because of the ingredients in them and because they are packed with protein while still lower calorie to help keep you full for longer. They are individually wrapped which are perfect to put a couple inside of a Blessings Bag. And they come in four great flavors:

 Almond Toffee Crunch
• Bing Cherry & Almond
• Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk
• Roasted Cashew & Dark Chocolate

I have tried all 4 flavors and I will say that the Oatmeal Chocolate Crunch is the best!!

Purex Crystals {ScentSplash Giveaway}

As much as I don't love to clean- I always love a clean house. And even more, a clean smelling house.

After a Fall/Winter with the house closed up tight and a husband, three kids and a dog, our house needs a good Spring cleaning!

One thing I always include in my Spring cleaning is washing all of our winter coats, gloves, hats, etc. Through the Winter I don't particularly enjoy opening out hallway closet because it has a stale smell. And it's not like I don't ever clean my house during the winter! I do! I really do clean! But when our coats are shoved behind the door all winter- YA, they smell. And a good wash is in order!

So one requirement is some good smells to eliminate laundry odors- our with the stale closet smell- in with Fresh Spring Waters from Purex Crystals Scent Splash!

Spring has sprung!

It's been too long... I know really it's been about 15ish days, but these days Tyler's daytime naps are few and far between. So when he is napping, I actually have to do work. You know, laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher or some other cleaning... The stuff that is no fun! I wish when Tyler was napping I could be scrapbooking, making cards... Something I like to do!

Right now he is actually entertaining himself in his little activity center. This thing is pretty cool but after a short time he is bored. So I have gotta type fast!

I have been meaning to add some new pictures, so this is what's been going on!
Here are 2 brothers that really love each other!

This is Zach's before hair.... It's been growing since last September and was waaay long!
I gave him a date and said it would be cut on that day, and that's what we did. He loves having his hair long and I really don't mind it but this time it was getting too long even for me.

This sideways picture is Tyler eating his first veggies... Sweet potatoes are on the top of Tyler's list! He has since tried Squash and seemed to like it just o.k. And he really likes apples! We'll see tonight if he likes carrots!

Lastly, here is a picture of a good deal that we got.

It was 12 boxes of cereal,
4 gallons of Milk (2 not shown)
tortillas
and 2 Stouffers sandwiches (also not shown)

Albertson's paid us a little over $7 to take this off their hands.... Not to shabby!
