I guess it's my own fault...

I mean, I did put it in writing, right?

Even though I said that timeline you see a couple of posts down
is a *typical* day, Tyler just has to prove his mama wrong!

This is how today has gone.

6:30 am, me snoozing away, awakened by Tyler yelling through the baby monitor.
Greeeeaaat.... It's going to be one of those days...
After checking that everything was okay, and he was just mad,
and made a mad dash for the shower.

So before 7 am Tyler was up and had breakfast.
Then Zachary got up, got off to school as normal.
Tyler and I were busy playing when suddenly, Tyler hopped up and told me,
"night, night" and headed for his room.

Okay, it's only 9:45 but I'll lay you down.
I came out and started doing things on my computer and managed to get through an
hour and a half before Tyler was chattering in his room.

I let him play in there for a bit then got him up and we made sandwiches.

Then, since he was in such a happy, cheese ball mood, I thought I'd snap a picture or two of us.

This little munchkin was having the best time posing while I snapped away
and got a ton of cute pictures of just him as well.

Then he wants to see them, of course, and tells me,
"Oh cute"

So after lunch he played with his blocks for about 15 minutes,
got a clean diaper and he is tucked back into his bed,
hopefully for another 1 and a half hours!

Current Crush Thursday

Linking up with Framed Frosting
for my very first Current Crush Thursday!

Current Crush Thursdays

My current crush: baby Headbands

Here is the crazy part of this crush:
I don't even know if the baby in my belly is a girl

But right now I'm loving headbands
and whether or not I have a girl,
I see making tons of these in my future!

Here are a few I found on Pinterest that I love!

This last one is up cycled! From baby pants! How great is that?
 Plus, isn't this baby adorable?

{15} Timeline of your day

Timeline of my day

Well, it varies, depending on the day.

If we have nothing planned for the day it goes something like this:

7am wake up for me if I want to shower that day (which I do!)
Zachary is usually up and showered by now, and watching cartoons,
and Travis has left for work. And I am probably starting my post for the day.
7-8 Tyler wake up-gets diaper changed
8-830 breakfast and empty/refill dishwasher
850 Zachary leaves for school

9-1030 is playtime for Tyler and I. Getting some stories read, doing some cuddling,
playing with toys and having a snack.

1030-11 Tyler lays down for a nap

11-230(ish) is time to clean house, do laundry, sweep, catch up on email, blogging,
and these days... my own nap :)

Around 2:30 Tyler is up and gets some lunch.
After lunch is playtime, and time to harass the dog. :)

3pm. Stop whatever you are doing because Ellen is on.
(Tyler will drop whatever is in his hands to come sit with me and watch "Eln"--his words)

3:23 Zachary's home from school
Time for homework

4:30-5 Get going on dinner... What's it going to be tonight?
If I already know, then it can wait longer. :)

4-6 (depending on dinner) You might find us playing outside with the neighbors.
(because even though Tyler acts shy, he loves the neighbor girl.:) -
When he sees her out the front window,
he attempts to call her name. It's cute.)

6 Travis gets home and it's time to eat!
630 we are cleaning up or already done and about to relax.

We might be back outside if it's nice out.

730-8 Tyler bath and ready for bed. Down by 8.

9- Zachary bed time

Depending on what's on TV that night, I might be heading to bed now too.

The only thing that really varies in this schedule is during the morning, if we have something to do
we typically do it once Zach is out the door to school. So groceries, story time at the library, other errands
are all done first thing in the morning. That way I don't mess with Tyler's schedule too much.
If we are in the car during nap time, then he sleeps well in the car too. :)
But I try not to do that too often. It's mainly when I have Dr. appointments, things like that.

So that is our typical day!

{14} If you won the lottery

If I won the lottery...

I guess it would depend on how much it was.

First, I'd pay off my house, car and any misc bills we might have at that time.
I would go on a trip or two
and put the rest into a fund where I can live off of the interest.

I would love to have the money set aside for the kids' education
and to help them through life without handing everything to them.

I would love to help our families, making sure they are comfortable.

I would want to give money to multiple charities.

And lastly, If I won the lottery, I don't think I would tell anyone.
I feel like there is so much pressure on people who win.
I want to help people because *I* want to, not because I should, or because I have to.

Speed dating

For bloggers....

C'mon people! I love my husband and am not looking to replace him!

Nicole over at This Little Momma is hosting this super fun,
getting to know you, blog post-- Go check it out!

This Little Momma

I know I have done several posts like this lately,
but here is another one!

Travis and I started dating 5 years ago today!
I can't believe how amazing these last 5 years have been!

*We have two boys and a third baby on the way, due in September.

*I didn't grow up with a religion. Though I wish I would have.
I have been reading the bible for several years and was baptized 5 years ago (in April)

*I could drink a Coca Cola and eat classic lays with ranch dip everyday.

* I have loved elephants since I was a kid. I collect elephant statues
and many times my grandma tried to give me a (real) elephant foot stool.
(Gross, I know! I didn't take it!)

*I love music and rarely keep it on one station in my car. One time you might get it and it will be on a pop
station, the next time it will be on country and the next on Christian Alternative.
(Those are my man three)

*I love Reese's peanut butter cups.

*I can count my true friends on one hand
(and really, I prefer that. It's more important to have close, amazing friends
than having lots of okay friends)

Okay, on that note I'm out! Go check out Nicole's blog!
And join in!

{13} What is your earliest memory

What is my earliest memory?

Lets start with this:
I don't have a great memory.
I have a hard time knowing if it's a memory,
or if I know it because it's a story that has been many times.

But one thing I do remember is riding an elephant.
Because ever since that day, elephants have been my favorite animal.
I must have been about 5 or 6.

I was on a school field trip to Walk in the Wild Zoo
(which sadly does not exist anymore)
And I remember being put up on the elephant with my cousin Amber,
and they walked us around in a circle.
(kind of like riding a pony)
I have a Polaroid picture of it somewhere.

23 week bumpdate!

Wow.... I just did the math, and I have 16 weeks until D-Day!!!
I can't get over how fast this pregnancy has already gone!

How far along: 23 weeks! Already!

Total weight gain: 10 pounds as of this morning

Sleep: It's been better, that's for sure. But it's also been worse!

Maternity Clothes: Yep

Gender: We are Team Green so we will find out in September!

Names: Travis asked just a couple of nights ago if we already have it narrowed down.
I felt like giving him a death glare but instead stayed calm and said that
no, we had multiple names for both!
haha... Men!

Stretch marks: No new ones yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time!

Best moment this week: Hearing the peanuts heartbeat (147) during our appointment this week.
Also we have our c-section scheduled for September 17th!
I am super excited for that!

Movement: Oh yes. This peanut is having dance parties multiple times a day!

Food cravings: Arby's roast beef sandwiches with ketchup. I want them all the time!

Labor signs:
Nope. But I think I felt my very first ever Braxton Hicks... Not really sure though!

Belly button - innie or outie: still in!

What are you looking forward to this week: Things getting back to normal around the house.
Travis and his dad have been working on finishing a part of our basement and it's thrown off
Tyler's nap schedule and my internet play time. ;)

Health: Feel really great. I am tired around mid afternoon (right about the time Tyler is waking up)
and I feel like some moments I could eat everything in the house and other times I feel constantly full.
I am swollen enough that I have to take my wedding ring off at night because otherwise
I can't get it off in the morning. (This makes me sad!)

{12} What's inside your fridge

What is in my fridge?

Well, right now it's on overload because we had company!

I guess I didn't take a picture of the bottom drawers...
But there is Romain lettuce for the salad I made earlier in the week.
Also red, yellow and orange peppers, onion, lemons, limes, cherry tomatoes.

Lots and lots of goodies!

{11} 15 of my favorite things

15 of my favorite things:

Besides the obvious of my family and friends,
these are some of my favorite things:

The Eiffel Tower- I've never been but I know it will still be a favorite after I go!

I love Harry Potter. The books, the movies, everything Harry Potter!

Seattle. Even though I only live hours away I don't go there near enough.

Arby's Roast beef sandwiches. Sooo good!

Blogging: I have always loved to write. And I kept a journal for many years.
Now it's just online for everyone else to read as well!

Calla Lily flowers are my absolute favorite.

Flip flops. I wear these year round. (Yes, I live where it snows)

Vanilla Coke. I was so sad when they got rid of it but so happy when they brought it back!

Yankee Clean cotton candles. Best smell. Ever.

Love. I love it. You really can't live without it.

Pregnancy. One of the best and most amazing things I have ever experienced.

Rascal Flatts. Love these guys. Love their music. It never gets old to me.

Scrapbooking. I scrapbook just about everything. Good or bad, My family will remember.

Iced Caramel Macchiatos. I wish I could drink one everyday. (sometimes I do... shhhh)

Photography. I am not amazing, but I do ok and I love to capture every moment I can.

These are just some of my favorite things.
What are some of yours?

{10} Your best physical feature

My best physical feature....

Since I have so many of them, where do I even start?

kidding.... I'm kidding!

I guess I'd say my best physical feature is my smile.
I'd love to say it's my toned arms or legs,
or my six pack of abs,
but it's not. :) Because I don't have any of those things.

But I do always have a friendly smile to give.
Whether you are happy or sad,
I will be happy to give a smile and hopefully make your day even better.

{9} What are your worst habits

My worst habits:

I have several. {Yep, that's right, I'm not actually perfect!}

I bite my nails. -I go through periods of time where I don't bite them,
and they get long and pretty. Then they get to a point that they start snagging
on everything and I have to cut them off and I am back to biting!

I drink too much coffee/soda- Right now it's not bad because I'm pregnant.
And while I'm breastfeeding I do pretty okay too.
But once that's done I am back to my old self.
Maybe having two kids in two years will help me slow down this time.

I don't eat as healthy as I should. -I could eat a package of Oreos pretty quickly.

I let silly things, that shouldn't matter, get to me.
See my pet peeves.

I'm sure I have plenty more that I can't think of right now,
but I'm sure if you keep following along you will figure them out!

{8} What's in your handbag

What's in my handbag?

Well, right now it's a disaster!
Actually, it always is!

Here is a quick peek!

See? It has no rhyme or reason to it.
Typically I have my wallet, keys, phone,
snacks for Tyler, these days a pair of Tyler's shoes,
chap stick, mints,  and really, who knows what else.

Mother's Intuition

I have two boys.
While I was pregnant with each of them I was sure they were going to be boys...
And right I was. (I mean, I had a 50/50 chance, right?)

This time, even though we are Team Green, I still have that "feeling" of what this baby will be.
Another boy.

Am I happy about this?
Absolutely!

But really, we'll find out come September!

Here are a couple of facts.
I really only know of 4 people that are pregnant right now.

2 of those ladies have 3 boys each, and are pregnant with their 4th boy....
One person has 2 boys and is pregnant with her 3rd boy.
The other has one boy and is pregnant with a boy.

I have two boys.... See where I am going with this?

I have several online communities that I am linked up with
and I will say that most of them are in the following situation:
If they have a boy already, they are pregnant with another boy.
If they have a girl already, they are pregnant with a girl.

While I would love to have a little girl to wrap up our family,
a boy will complete us in just the same way.

Guess we'll  find out on September 17th,
because that is the day my c-section was just scheduled for!!

{7} Your pet peeves

My pet peeves

I have too many, I'll admit it.
I let things annoy me that really shouldn't.
I mean, I'm not the only one, right?

It drives me crazy when people don't use their blinkers
or don't turn them off after they are done turning or changing lanes.

It drives me crazy when people ride my rear, as if they think that will get me to drive faster?

It drives me crazy when my husband stops at a stop light and gets as close to
the car in front of him as he can-
This bugs me for 2 reasons:
1. What if we get rear ended? We are now hitting the car in front of us.
And 2. What if the car in front of us stalls? We are now too close to go around them!

People at the grocery store. Don't park your cart on one side and stand in the middle of the aisle while you decide which product you want. Now I can't get through and I'm annoyed.

I don't like it when people chew with their mouth open.
I am not interested in seeing your chewed food, people!

Okay. I will stop there. That's enough ranting for one post!

What are some of your pet peeves?

{6} Your 5 senses right now

My five senses right now

See: I'm sitting at the kitchen counter and Travis, Tyler, Zachary and Trav's dad are all sitting here

Taste: I just ate a maple bar so I still have that taste in my mouth

Feel: I am not feeling anything except the computer keys at the moment.
And the cold floor under my feet

Hear: I hear Zachary telling Rick about his bike ride to school, and the route he takes.
I also hear Tyler being a goof ball :)

Smell: Coffee and maple bars

22 week bumpdate!

How far along: 22 weeks! I know I keep saying it, but I cannot believe how fast this is going!

Total weight gain: As of this morning, 11 pounds.

Sleep: Pretty good. Most days are good but some I have been tossing
and turning and not able to get comfortable. I am so over it!

Maternity Clothes: Yup.

Gender: We are Team Green so we will find out in September!

Names: We are still undecided

Stretch marks: No new ones

Best moment this week: Travis and Zach both felt the baby kick!!

Movement: Kicks are getting stronger by the day! And I am loving it! (See above)

Food cravings:Saturday night I had a dream about a Arby's roast
beef sandwich and curly fries, so Sunday I went there for lunch and
it was delicious!

Labor signs:
Not even close.

Belly button - in or out: in

What are you looking forward to this week: My Dr. appointment tomorrow!
I am excited to talk about scheduling my c-section, about the last ultrasound
and my rapid weight gain last week!

Health: Feeling pretty great. I am definitely getting tired easy
and even though I am not on my feet all day long, my heels have been hurting.
Otherwise feeling pretty good.

{5} 10 favorite songs right now

My 10 favorite songs right now

I really thought this would be an easy one for me because I love music!
But it was a lot harder than I thought!

but here it goes it no particular order:

1. Maroon 5- Payphone

2. Taylor Swift- Eyes Open

3. Carly Rae Jepsen- Call Me Maybe

4. Manafest- Never Let You Go

5. One Direction- What Makes You Beautiful

6. Rascal Flatts- Banjo

7. We are Young- Fun

8. Britt Nicole- All This Time

9. Justin Bieber- Boyfriend

10. Luke Bryan- Drunk On You

{4} What are you afraid of

Day 4. What are you afraid of

Unfortunately, this was an easy one for me.

I am afraid of losing my family.

I have been through a big loss before.
And I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it happening again.

The day Will died we had been married exactly 1 year, 6 months.
So when it came time for Travis and I to have been married that long,
I had a pit in my stomach.

The day Will died, Zachary was 9 months and 1 day old.
So when it came time for Tyler to hit that "milestone",
again, I was nervous.

Their are plenty more dates that I think about.
Of course, the biggest being January 28th.
I always seem to wake up at 5 am on that morning,
because that is the time I woke up almost 10 years ago.
The day that my life changed forever.

I'm not afraid of dying. I know where I will go when I die.
But I hate the thought of my kids growing up without their dad.
I hate the idea of my kids growing up without me.
And I sure hate the idea of not having these amazing guys in my life.

Day 3- My favorite quote

I actually have several.
Here are a few:

Foodie Friday

I've really been trying hard to try new recipes
and for a while I was doing good.

Lately though... Not so much.
So I'm jumping back on the bandwagon with "Foodie Friday"

Each Friday I will share a new to me recipe,
most likely found on Pinterest.

I will try it and tell you what I thought and how to make it.
(and hopefully pictures will be involved!)

Feel free to check my recipe label at the bottom of my page for past recipes,
cause their are some good ones!

Let me know what you think of the recipes I'm trying,
and if you've tried it, what did you think?

Or if you have a recipe you think I should try, pass it my way!
First recipe to come next Friday!

{Day 2} 20 facts about myself

20 facts about myself

1. I love my husband and children more than anything

2. I am addicted to the internet (blogging, Pinterest, etc.)

3. I always have the "new car scent" air freshener in my car

4. When I was a kid we raised pigs, peacocks and chickens

5. I love everything about being pregnant (even the bad! It's all worth that end result!)

6. I have read the entire set of Harry Potter books more times than I can count
(whenever I don't have a book to read, I start re reading these again)

7. I love visiting Seattle. It's one of my favorite places to go because their is always something to see.

8. I take pictures of everything. I feel like you can never have too many!

9. I spent many years as a single parent and I hope to never do that again.
It's truly one of the hardest jobs out there.

10. My high school mascot was a Ram

11. I wear flip flops year round. Even when it's snowing.
Sometimes I will take extra shoes with me and change only when I need to.

12. I am addicted to reality TV shows like Big Brother and the Bachelor

13. I am not an animal person. If it were up to me alone, we'd never have another pet.

14. I love the color RED! It's my favorite.

15. I can not stand the smell or taste of beer. I don't get when people try to tell me they taste different
because each time I try one, it tastes the same. (which is awful!)

16. I am a recipe collector. I'm getting better at trying more of the recipes I have
rather than letting them collect dust.

17. I am very emotional. I don't deny it!

18. I love to sing, but I am no good. So even though I sing in front of Travis and the boys,
no one else needs to hear it!

19. My favorite TV show is Criminal Minds- even though it scares the crud out of me.

20. I love getting to be a stay at home mom. It's the best place for me to be. :)

Day 1... Introduction and Photo

I'm starting this new 31 day challenge today!

I really hope you will join in!
In case you missed it, Here is the challenge!

Day 1. An introduction and a recent photo

My name is Kate.
I am 29 years old and a mom of two beautiful boys and I have another (team green) baby on the way.
I am the wife of an amazing guy who works hard so that I can stay at home with our kids.
And we have a super crazy hyper chocolate lab.

I started blogging just about 2 years ago while I was pregnant with my second baby
as a way to keep life documented for my friends and family, and its just gone from there.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, in a place where it doesn't rain constantly
we have amazingly hot summers!
I love to take pictures and to scrapbook and I try to document my boys' life as best as I can.
I love to relax with my family, traveling, reading, clean cotton candles, and wearing flip flops.
I am gaining a new love for cooking and baking and really like to try new recipes!

Here is my recent photo. As of last Monday I was 21 weeks!

31 day blog challenge- Come join in!

I found this challenge through Emma at Boy oh Boy a couple of weeks back!
She started this as of May 1st and as much as I wanted to follow along
and do this challenge with her, I was still doing my 100 day picture challenge.
That kept me busy enough but now I am going to start this new challenge,
and luckily, it's only 31 days!

Anyone want to follow along and join in?
I am going to start tomorrow 5/17 and it will run through 6/16

Who's in?

(((Shantel.... you know you want to....)))
